Best Samsung phones in 2023

The South Korean company Samsung is the biggest player in the mobile phone industry. The company has been manufacturing these electronics for many years and thanks to the experience gained, it comes up with new innovations every year. Among users, Samsung mobile phones are popular mainly due to their reliability, quality of workmanship and camera results, where they have long been among the absolute top.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the uncompromising king of Android, offering cutting-edge features, a superb display and a revolutionary 200MP camera. If you’re looking for a phone that can do it all and don’t want to skimp on quality, this is the perfect choice for you.

The display of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is 6.8 inches and has a resolution of 3,200×1,440 pixels. It’s made of durable Gorilla Glass Victus and supports an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. This ensures a smooth, sharp and colour-fast image. The display also hides an ultrasonic fingerprint reader and a 12MP front-facing camera.

The performance of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is provided by the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor, which has been manufactured using 4nm technology. This offers speed, efficiency and support for 5G networks. Memory options are either 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, or 12 GB RAM and 512 GB or even 1 TB storage. The battery has a 5,000 mAh capacity and supports fast wireless and wired charging.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra’s cameras are the main attraction of this phone. The rear consists of a quad of sensors: the main one with 200 Mpx, a telephoto lens with 10 Mpx and optical zoom (10×), another telephoto lens with 10 Mpx and 3x optical zoom. For selfies, there is an ultra-wide angle lens with 12 Mpx. The camera can capture detailed images in all lighting conditions, allows you to zoom in on objects without losing quality and record video in 4K or 8K resolution.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra also has several special features that set it apart from the competition. For example, it supports the S Pen stylus for taking notes or drawing on the display. It also has a DeX feature to connect your phone to a monitor or TV. Not to forget the SmartThings feature for controlling smart devices at home or on the go.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4

You definitely won’t overlook the foldable Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4. The specific design with a flexible display has been attracting attention even years after the first generation of this model series entered the market. Today, the Galaxy Z Flip4 is a stylish phone with outstanding performance, a great display and unexpected versatility. You’d be hard pressed to find more significant weaknesses.

The hardware features a fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ processor complemented by 8GB of RAM. Samsung has also promised long-term support, including regular system updates. You only have to put up with the absence of a memory card reader or a second SIM card slot. You can choose between 128, 256 or 512 GB of integrated storage. The water resistance according to IPX8 certification will also please.

The foldable design is not just a design feature. You’ll appreciate both the storage and the variability of use. The hinge is quite rigid, so it holds the phone in any position. For example, you can fold it to a right angle and use the bottom part as a touch control surface or stand. Extremely practical for filming, taking selfies or video conferences! However, handling requires both hands, which may not be comfortable in all situations.

The main display withstands the most rigorous evaluation. It offers a clear and fine image with a resolution of 2,640 × 1,080 px. You can see the flexible part, but it is not distracting. Just watch out for scratches. Due to the logic of the design, it is not possible to cover the entire display with highly resistant glass. The outside of the phone hides a small secondary display with a diagonal of 1.9″. It displays notifications, or you can use it to control basic apps.

The main camera with a resolution of only 12 Mpx raises suspicion, but it takes very good pictures. It is complemented by a wide-angle lens. The lower resolution is especially appreciated for night shots, where it is positively reflected in a lower level of digital noise. The excellent optical stabilisation is also a strong point. The only disappointment is the lack of a telephoto lens. The above-average battery life also deserves a mention. The 3,700 mAh battery can handle a full day of heavy use. In normal working mode, you only need to charge the Galaxy Z Flip4 once every 1.5 to 2 days.

Samsung Galaxy S22

The Samsung Galaxy S22 is this year’s flagship phone. Remember the popular S10e? Well, this is a slightly larger version, but one that doesn’t lose any of its high compactness. In fact, the Galaxy S22 features a 120Hz AMOLED panel with a diagonal of 6.1 inches. The phone is great to hold and offers beautiful colours and brightness. The Exynos 2200 (4nm), on the other hand, ensures uncompromising performance and agile operation of the intuitive Android 12 OS.

The photos are also very good. There are 3 lenses on the back, the main one being a 50MP one. You can shoot video in 8K high resolution! The quality music accompaniment is taken care of by a great stereo.
