How to change your Android wallpaper

Today’s modern Android smartphones have large and beautiful screens with high pixel density. Start by launching the Settings app. In the Devices section, tap the Display icon, then tap Wallpaper. You’ll see a list of folders containing individual images. You can then tap the folder to browse its contents.

Each folder has a slightly different layout, which is somewhat confusing. For example, if you tap Wallpapers, you’ll find yourself in a gallery of different wallpapers, which you can navigate between by dragging your finger across the thumbnails that appear at the bottom of the screen. The Live Wallpapers folder contains a list of options – if you want to see what a particular choice does, just tap it. The Gallery and Wallpapers folders instead show lists of thumbnails that can be swiped through seamlessly by dragging your finger across the screen.

Once you’ve found a wallpaper you like, it’s very easy to set it as your smartphone wallpaper – simply tap the Set Wallpaper button.

But on most Android devices, you can get to the wallpaper settings in other ways, perhaps even easier in some ways. All you have to do is tap and hold your finger in an empty area of the screen – where there are no icons or widgets. After a few seconds, you’ll see a menu to change the wallpaper or add widgets.

Where to find nice pictures for wallpaper?

If you don’t think the images you’ve taken are suitable as wallpapers, you can look for wallpapers on special wallpaper-oriented sites such as Interfacelift or the National Geographic wallpaper collection.

Flickr, Deviant Art and Wikipedia Commons are also good sources of images for wallpaper. Many photographers or artists use these services specifically to publish and offer their photos for download in versions available under Creative Commons or Public Domain licenses.

How to set a different wallpaper on each desktop.

The number one task is to install the FiveWallpapers app on your phone or tablet. The program is available for free in the Play Store and it is a very simple tool for setting different wallpapers for each area of your home screen. Any image or photo of any size can be used as a wallpaper. The app is available for free, but includes a small advertising banner.

From the app list, launch the newly installed Five Wallpapers tool, or you can access the same via the live wallpaper settings (the menu usually appears when you long-press a free space on the home screen, usually in the Wallpaper section), where you select FiveWallpapers as your wallpaper.

Then click Settings. If the app does not correctly recognize the number of home screen desktops, select Number of desktops and select how many desktops you are using. You can also select the transition effect when you move between home screen desktops in the Transitions effect menu within the settings. In the menu below, you can also set up an automatic change, trigger a wallpaper change by double tapping the home screen (Double tap to change) or shake (Shake to change).

Once you’ve made all the desired settings, go back up in FiveWallpapers. Here you’ll see a preview of all the surfaces and their currently selected background images. After tapping on the desktop image you want to edit, you’ll be able to browse your device and find the file you want to use. Once you’ve selected your wallpaper, you can edit, rotate, customize, and crop it by long tapping on the preview image. Once you’re happy with the execution, use the Back button to return to the previous screen of the app and tap Set Wallpaper here.
